Square dancing is fun! It is also great exercise both mentally and physically. You
meet lots of wonderful people, too. Our club is a great place for couples. Whether you have been married for 50 years
or more, are newlyweds, or are simply two people who enjoy dancing together, you will find our club provides a welcoming environment.
Lessons for people interested in learning square dancing usually begin each fall on Tuesday
or Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m. and start soon after Labor Day. The full course of lessons will teach you the movements
of Modern Square Dancing. Come to the first class and try it out before committing yourself. Experience is always the
Ed Czech, a well-known and highly regarded square dance
caller, has lived in Winamac for 53 years. Ed and his wife Phyllis have been married for 36 years and have six children. Ed
has been a square dance caller for over 46 years. Ed and Phyllis have teamed together to teach square dance lessons
and are both knowledgeable and patient teachers which makes learning fun!
People wear casual attire to lessons. Men typically wear jeans/pants and a long-sleeved
shirt. Women usually wear jeans/slacks/capris and a casual top. Comfortable shoes are a must!
We learn a while, then take a break; learn some more, then take another break. Beverages
and light refreshments are usually available.
