The members of the Lafayette Fun Squares are banded together in a spirit of friendliness and good fellowship to share
the pleasures of square dancing. Membership is open to all those seeking fun and fellowship in the square dance
world. Members are qualified Modern square dancers who pay a small annual membership fee and fulfill membership
Lafayette Fun Squares was founded in Lafayette, Indiana in 1985. The group
originated from Larry Letson's Shindig Club. The club will celebrate their 37th anniversary in 2022. The club is a member
of the Indiana Dancers Association (IDA) and the Northwest Area Dancers Association.
Lafayette Fun Squares hosts dances on selected Friday nights each year and
a summer dance, in addition to square and round dance instruction. They also participate in events around the community
and the state. Members may also choose to attend dances hosted by other chapters, state and national conventions, and even
square dance cruises. This is a "hobby" that can last a lifetime!
