Our Mission

The members of the Lafayette Fun Squares are banded together in a spirit of friendliness and good fellowship to share the pleasures of square dancing.  Membership is open to all those seeking fun and fellowship in the square dance world.  Members are qualified Modern square dancers who pay a small annual membership fee and fulfill membership responsibilities.

Our History

Lafayette Fun Squares was founded in Lafayette, Indiana in 1985. The group originated from Larry Letson's Shindig Club. The club will celebrate their 34th anniversary in 2019.  The current membership includes approximately 60 dancers. The club is a member of the Indiana Dancers Association (IDA) and the Northwest Area Dancers Association.

Our Activities

Lafayette Fun Squares hosts at least 16 Friday night dances each year and a summer dance, in addition to square and round dance instruction. They also participate in events around the community and the state. Members may also choose to attend dances hosted by other chapters, state and national conventions, and even square dance cruises. This is a "hobby" that can last a lifetime!
